Craftsmen compete in Canada
[04.09.2009]The world championships in craftsmanship are underway.
In warm sunshine and true to opening ceremonies of Olympic Games, the World Skills 2009 competition took off on 1 september in Calgary, Canada. Here, some of the world’s best craftsmen compete in 45 different trades.
Denmark is represented by 15 young craftsmen who have all won the Danish championships within their trades. In total approximately 950 craftsmen from 51 different countries participate.

The opening ceremony featured speeches from the Canadian Prime Minister and the Lord Mayor of Calgary. The theme of the opening ceremony gave a nod to the fact that World Skills this year takes place in an old Indian settlement.

The opening ceremony was beautifully arranged with music, dancing and a motor bike show.
