Denmark in European network to increase interest in science and technology
[09.06.2011]Denmark is now part of a strategic European network that works to strengthen the connection between education and career within science and technology.
The European Coordinating Body in Maths, Science and Technology Education (ECB) works to gather and communicate the best European experiences from collaborations between schools and businesses. Now, Danish Minister for Education, Troels Lund Poulsen, is backing the project by supporting the Danish stake in the ECB with 0,8 million Danish Kroner. This brings the ECB network to a total of 16 countries.
We must make a wholehearted effort.
Troels Lund Poulsen looks forward to the collaboration:
"We must make a wholehearted effort to promote topics of science, technology and health within the entire educational sector. Europe needs young people striving for an education within natural sciences. This is pivotal for businesses and their competitiveness and for the democratic debate," says Troels Lund Poulsen.
One of the aims of the Danish participation is to raise awareness of Danish initiatives in Europe, whilst actively drawing on European experiences in Denmark.
